Description
For the Spring-Summer 2021 ready-to-wear fashion show, Maria Grazia Chiuri presents a new piece named Dior Palto. The style is inspired by the Diopaletot creation designed for the Fall-Winter 1957 collection and revealed in Japan by Daimaru in collaboration with Christian Dior. Crafted in multicolor cotton canvas and silk, the reversible style has a Colored Toile de Jouy motif on one side and reveals an Ikat* motif on the other. The cropped jacket skims every silhouette with elegance and boldness while remaining relaxed and comfortable, in an ode to freedom of movement. Maria Grazia Chiuri pursues her committed approach to the origin of fashion, the type of cut and the essence of the garment.*The garment was crafted using an Indonesian cloth, the Ikat Endek, whose precious craftsmanship is preserved and carried on by exceptional artisans. The irregularities in the weave and motif show the uniqueness and richness of this textile tradition.
